DSO5202B firmware updates fail with 0xfe
Edited by dgScope at 2019-5-18 04:50I’ve tried upgrading the firmware on my DSO5202B using the files below, and both resulted in 0xfe errors (no update file found).
dso5kb_func_dso5202b20140610.updso5kb_func_dso5202b20180226.up
These firmware files were obtained from the Hantek website and the Hantek OneDrive account.
I tried multiple FAT32-formatted 1GB USB flash drives. The flash drives are otherwise operational with the scope.I can save waveforms and screenshots to USB ok.I've reformatted so the only file present is the firmware up file.No luck.
Any help would be appreciated.
Scope S/N: T 1G/200M 033099SW version: 2.06.3 (130814.1)HW version: 0x555583e9
Thanks
Sir, your scope is too old, the new firmware is not suitable for it.
Please send a message to our email support@hantek.com
I did follow up with support@hantek.com and haven't received a response.
My question to Support is:What’s the highest supported firmware version for the DSO5202B with hardware version (0x555583e9)?
Thanks.

Sir, the linux version of your scope is 2.06.3. The latest firmware is not suitable for it.
Please use this firmware to update.
Attention, if the firmware version number earlier than 2013, such as 120505.0 or 120825.0, please do not upgrade with this firmware.
Dear Amy,
I have the same problem.
Model: DSO5202B
SW: 2.06.3.(130425.0)
HW: 10070x555583e9
I can't update from the downloads from the hantek page.
Also your attached update shows me the error 0xfe
Can you please help me updating my DSO?
Thank you!
regards

Dear Amy,
I have the same problem.
Model: DSO5202B
Sir, You can upgrade with the above firmware.
Hello Amy,
I have the same problem too. But my firmware is quite older:
Model: DSO5202B
SW: 2.06.3(120808.0)
HW: 10070x555583e9
What is the procedure to update my device?
Sorry, there is no upgrade firmware suitable for your oscilloscope.
I have the same problem.
DSO5202P
Firmware update failed error 0xfe
No upgrade files detected on USB device
I had this problem before with files not visible.
I suspect the USB partition cannot be mounted because the drive capacity is too large.
I was able to use an old 512MBUSB stick successfully.
Can you try with a small capacity USB drive - or possibly create a small partition
if you do not have an older USB stick. Hope it works for you.
( I am not from Hantek - just a user - so this is not official advice)
