Update the firmware of Hantek2D72/2D42/2C72/2C42

Update with DFU software.
1. Download the programming tool in the following link and install. http://hantek.com/en/ProductDetail_1_13174.html
2. Press F1 and Power on button of the oscilloscope at the same time to enter programming mode.

3. Connect the oscilloscope to the computer and open the device manager of the computer.
4. Find a new device and right click it to update the driver. The driver files are in this path: STMicroelectronics\Software\DfuSe v3.0.5\Bin\Driver.

5. Open DfuSe Demo software, click "Choose" to select the firmware (***.dfu), and click "Upgrade" to update the firmware. After updated, click "Leave DFU mode" to exit the programming mode.

Also, users can use the software to update the firmware.
1. Download the software in the following link and install. http://hantek.com/en/ProductDetail_1_13174.html
2. Connect the scope to your computer via the USB cable.
3. Run the software Hantek2xx2.
Confirm the scope is connected to the computer successfully.
If not, please open the device manager to install the driver maunally.
4. Click "Help->CheckUpdate" to open HT2xxAutoUpdate software, now update according to Wizard.

Hi Amy, I have a question about the firmware. Instead of showing amplitude, can it instead show minimum and maximum? Right now the firmware shows "amplitude = maxiumum - minimum" which is less usefull than just maximum and minimum. Please ask the firmware/software team to look at this.

My Hantek2c42 often doesn't pass the calibration. It freezes on it! I wait for more then 5 min, nothing changed.
Only way is return and try again. Some times it pass at 2 or 3 time.
How to fix it?

A problem also with DMM. In "DC mA" is not zero even when i cross the probes. It always show 0.02-0.05 mA, without probes also.
How to fix it?

Also i want to ask to make some changes in the new firmware.
1. Add Menu hide on second pressing "Menu", "Trig", "Channel", "Time", or on pressing "Enter".
2. In "Trigger" mode change buttons "<" and ">" form changing trigger level to changing trigger position, like it does in "Time" menu.
3. Add horizontal scale settings during operation. At least option to see all the signal on the screen but not a part of it!
4. Not to draw voltage settings of the channel when it is deactivated.
5. Make working icon about channel coupling AC,DC, Gnd. (~,–,x)
6. When menu is hidden. Make changing of arrow buttons usage: "F1" - CH1 changing, "F2" - CH2 changing, "F3" - trigger changing, "F4" - time changing. Without showing this menu! Only arrow buttons function changing!

Здравствуйте. Скажите пожалуйста, почему после обновления программного обеспечения, перестал работать Buzzer, не пищит когда прозваниваю цепь и все?
В добавок он зависает, если с режима Buzzer перейти в право на DC A, а потом назад на Buzzer, в этом случае BUzzer показывает 0.0000, делая вид то короткое замыкание.
Долгое очень время определения сопротивления и вольт, почему оно так происходит?

Второе когда стоит режим DC v, то напряжение постоянно качет, когда шевелим провода.

Что за ерунда творится с тестером?

К сожалению кроме этих проблем есть еще множество, связанных с ошибками в прошивке.
Чтоб пищал используй не стрелки а кнопку F3.

Да скорость измерения сопротивления - ни в какие ворота, не менее 7-8 сек! А напряжение вроде быстро, только вот выше 400 В не измеряет!
Самое обидное, не факт, что все эти ошибки когда-то исправят.

А то, что напряжение появляется когда двигаются провода это нормально, из "воздуха" ловит.

На счет F3, согласен, после написания сообщения случайно нажал и заработало.
Решил дождаться ответа от человека, как я понял тут кто-то отвечает из поддержки этого кирпича.
Что напряжение, что сопротивление работа определения сравнил с дешевым мастечем, купленного лет 10 назад за 300р. скорость намного выше чем у кирпича.

Жалко очень, хочется чтобы прибор работал нормально, не сказать же что это дешевое совсем удовольствие такой покупать.

И что значит нормальное явление напряжение ловит, это дичь какая-то )))

Провода замкни, должен 0 быть.
Хотя в моем проблема с измерением тока, периодически какие-то фантомные 0.02-0.05mA появляются.
Лучше бы этого мультиметра вообще небыло, чем такой.

Меня больше напрягает, что осциллограф с глюками.
Тригер ловит через раз в режиме Auto. Половина интерфейса не работает, или работает некорректно, еще и интуитивно стрелки не в те стороны нажимать хочется во всех режимах.
Coupling GND вообще непонятно куда притягивает, не к земле точно, и похоже это аппаратная проблема (возможно очередное обновление FPGA поможет, если сделают).
Да и вообще какие-то шумы из воздуха ловит, если в помещении индуктивные нагрузки работают.
Знал бы, что будет такая параша не стал бы покупать, как-то 100$ на дороге не валяется.

Очень надеюсь на какую-то порядочность, что все-таки поправят когда-то... Дали бы исходники, я бы
сам поправил)))

А то, что тут кто-то из поддержки ответит, вообще перестал надеяться.
Тем более они еще месяц Новый Год праздновать будут.

Hello, I just received my 2D72 scope and have been updating/setting up software/firmware/LPGA and after following all instructions in this thread and the program saying that the upgrade was successful, in menu>sys info it shows "SOFT : 2018120601". But I flashed the one posted in this thread, titled "HantekHTX2019010401.dfu". Does even the 201901 version still show "201812" in menu? My FPGA shows V02, indicating that I was successful in upgrading it. I just want to make sure that I upgraded the firmware correctly. Thank you in advance

Здравствуйте! В момент обновления ПО программа считала время, но шкала обновления не двигалась. Пришлось отключить прибор от компьютера. Теперь прибор не определяется компьютером. На приборе кроме красной лампочки power - ничего больше не горит. Что теперь делать?

достать аккумы и вставить обратно через пару-тройку секунд. Нажать F1+питалово (он может не подавать признаков жизни как бы) и подключить к компу. Должен определиться.

Если же все плохо - надо будет программатор ST-LINK v2

Подойдет, но лить нужно не прошивку с сайта, а полный дамп.

Расскажи подробнее. Вставляешь аккумы, и ни на что не реагирует? Напряжение на аккумах есть? При подключении к компу что пишет? Если все плохо должно быть "устройство неопознанно или работает неправильно", иначе должен или видится если не отломан USB и не порван кабель. Попробуй на другом компе подключить.

При подключении к компу - горит красным кнопка включения и ни на какие манипуляции не реагирует. При подключении зарядки - эта-же кнопка - мигает. Оставил заряжаться на ночь с мигающим красным. С утра - не мигает, т.е. аккумы заряжены. Достал аккумы, подождал, вставил обратно - тишина. Раньше при подключении к компу винда прибор определяла всегда(и с драйвером и без) . Сейчас и при нажатии F1/power - тишина, и просто при подключении шнурка в комп- полная тишина, винда молчит - как будто вообще ничего не подключено...

1, Why is the Autoranging on DMM, OHM of this multimeter is so SLOW ??
2, would greate if the backlight timeout would reset itself when the meter is being used on DMM ( when input is detected )

Is it possible to resolve these issues?

Try to connect the cable to the correct USB port on the charged batteries and the device off and press F1 without releasing the power button. If it does not work-try to turn the type-C and connect to another computer socket, may not have enough power due to poor contact in the socket

Just be careful, and use it at your own risk, as it includes calibration data and you can ruin your device.

Recovered device and found it measures nothing, so checked FPGA version, it was 255. Made an FPGA programming and finally recieved version number 002 and working oscilloscope

The firmware update procedure is not working for me.

Pushing F1 + Power. Waiting for the play/pause button to flash.
Asfter that I plug the USB cable.
The power button is red. Play/Stop button is doing a color sequence and after that the scope is starting automatically...
One of my friend have the same scope and when we do the exact same thing it's working on his model.
Not on mine.

Any Idea?

why is that a 30-year-old fluke multimeter is 5x faster than this hantek on DMM mode reading Resistance is very slow & IT TAKES FOREVER TO READ A CAPACITOR VALUE !!!

Can this be fixed with a firmware update ???

Sorry, the measurement rate is determined by hardware. Can't be improved by firmware.

Hello,
I've received a new 2D42 yesterday and it was working fine. I've tried to upgrade firmware by following the instructions found on this forum (using firmware and update tool from this page http://hantek.com/en/ProductDetail_1_13174.html, updating using Windows 10) and the update failed right after the flash was erased (see screenshot).

Now the device is dead and cannot start anymore (not even in DFUse mode ...)
Any way to recover and unbrick it ?

Both solutions are not working.
As soon as it get some power from USB or battery the scope is starting.
I can see the DFU mode in windows device manager but it stay less than a second and the scope is automaticaly booting.

Any other idea?

I've tried to follow the procedure described in "

rogram Arm1" but the Flash Loader demonstrator keeps on saying that there is no response from the target (I see a brief led flashing on the USB to TTL board).
I've checked that I've installed the proper drivers for the USB to serial device and this part seems to be working ok (device is detected, USB port is created).
I did put a jumper between the 2 pins as described and then I plug in the USB cable in the computer.
the Flash loader states "Verify the boot mode configuration" and the flash protection status (see screenshot); I've only set the jumper, is there anything else to do on the scope (hit a combination of keys to start it in the proper mode ? I've tried power+F1 with no success).
Thanks for any advice ... I'm quite stuck here

Thanks for the hint (I should have thought of that ...) unfortunately it did not solve my problem. Still the same error from the software (I still have a led flashing briefly on the USB to TTL device and that's it).
Any other hint I could try ?

I finally managed to flash the device, my problem was caused by vmware ...
I managed to get a PC with native Windows and it finally worked....

Good morning everyone. I'm Brazilian and I need help from geniuses. I have the 2C42 with the latest firmware that now appears for example in a sinusoid to FREQUENCY, MAX AND MIN. What would this MAX and MIN be? Because when it had the option of peak to peak the values gave different. In a 3db sinusoid I get the RMS value and multiply it by 1.4142 and find the peak value where multiplied by 2 I find the peak-to-peak value. Well these values did not hit before and now with this update. I calibrated the tip x10 and x100 and nothing. Please someone help me? Thank you.

I answered to you on the EEVblog forum, apparently the problem is that you are using AC coupling to measure a low frequency signal. Change the coupling to DC and check again.

I've tried to upgrade firmware by following the instructions found on this forum.
The upgrade failed and now the device is dead with no response to anything.
I have read in this thread about a way to re-flash it with instructions in a file that is not anymore online.

Just tried the last Firmware (2019060601), what were the changes on it? It would be nice to have a change log provided with the main changes between the different FW version.

Anyway, I will try it further to see if it has any improvement, for now I can tell you already it has a new bug: connect the oscilloscope to the USB, when it is disconnected you will see the battery level indicator flashing in red, as if the battery is low, even with the batteries fully charged. Turn the device on and off again and the icon will show the correct battery state.

Здравствуйте. Почему после обновления FPGA меню новое добавилось при включении аппарата.
И в sys info пишет что модель Hantek K2C82, а должно быть 2c42 ?
При нажатии кнопки меню выходит на самом деле меню.
Это нормально или что-то пошло не так?

Hi Amy, Dmitrkov already posted a video, so he can reproduce the problem as well.

I've noticed the issue with the charging status icon in FW 2019050901 and 2019060601. To reproduce it, just connect the device to a USB port in a computer or the wall charger while in scope mode. In DMM or AWG mode de icon status works normally. When the cable in disconnected, the battery icon flashes in red, even with the battery full.

Another bug that is older (I've reported it some time ago, but probably went unnoticed) and I think is more critical is in AWG mode. With the "Gen out" disabled if you use the virtual keypad to enter any parameter of the waveform, when you exit from the keypad the output of the function generator is activated, but the status icon on the display and the led in the play button still indicates it as off.

To try this, set the device to AWG mode, connect "Gen out" to an oscilloscope so you can see the output. Make sure the output of the AWG is off, now press, ie, F2->F2 to open the virtual keypad (works in any parameter), enter a value or just hit enter to exit the keypad. You will see in the oscilloscope that the output is now activated.

If I have some time later, I can try to make a video to ilustrate, but I am pretty sure it is very straight forward to reproduce these problems.

2C42 with FW 2019060601 and FPGA V4 the Stop Button in Scope Mode doesnt work.

you can test it when you start a longtime Measuring with Timebase 2 Seconds and Forced Trigger and do press after a few seconds the stop button. the button goes immediately red but the measuring dont stop until the whole memory ist full.
