Burst Mode
You can configure the function generator to output a waveform with a specified number of cycles, called
a burst. The function generator can produce a burst using sine, square, ramp, pulse, harmonic or arbitrary
waveforms (noise is allowed only in the gated burst mode and dc is not allowed).

To Trigger a Burst
You can issue triggers from the front panel for bursts using a manual trigger or an internal trigger.
? Internal triggering is enabled with the default settings of the function generator. In this mode, the
function generator outputs continuously when the burst mode is selected.
? Manual triggering initiates one burst each time you press theTrigger key from the front-panel.
Continue pressing this key to re-trigger the function generator.

5 View the waveform.
To view the waveform parameters.

Note:
A. You can generate a single burst (with the specified count) by pressing the Trigger key.
B. You can also use an external gate signal to either turn the burst signal “on” or “off” based on the
external signal applied to the front-panel Sync/Mod/Trig connector.

3 Set the burst count.
Press the countsoftkey and then set the count to “3” using the numeric keypad or knob.

4 Set the burst period.
Press the period softkey and then set the period to 10 ms using the numeric keypad or the knob and cursor
keys. The burst period sets the time from the start of one burst to the start of the next burst.

At this point, the function generator outputs a continuous three-cycle burst (if the output is enabled).
