I got this Oscilloscope from Bangood with same buggy firmware ,that didn't display English. It was looking like just random pixels, instead of alpha/numerical characters.

Newer firmware fixed it.

I'll keep it short , and simple. Here's is how I got it fixed in first try.

At first ,it wasn't clear to me how to enter DFU mode so:
1 Remove the battery back cover and remove 2 batteries
2 Unplug the USB cable
3 Press and hold F1, plug in the USB cable and connect to the computer.
4 Release F1 immediately after the lower right corner (RUN/Stop) light flashes <--I released the F1 button just after when I saw the green light on ,|> (the play/pause button on the unit).
5 Click the program "Start" button
**Note, please make sure the computer has successfully installed the DFU driver!
