In Average/128/40k mode

I have a DSO4202c with software version 3.50.0(190325.0).

If I put it in Average mode, 128 average, memory depth 40k, it will reset after a few minutes.  All the settings are lost, and it returns to operating with default settings.

I was trying this combination because when I look at a 21 MHz sinewave, it looks "jittery".  I don't see this jittery distortion when I look at the same sinewave with other oscilloscopes.

Other settings
     sec/div: 40.0 ns
     Type: Real Time
     volts/div: 5.00V
     input: on Ch.1

While switching between CH1 & CH2

While switching between CH1 & CH2 to set up the scope, it will reset.

Procedure (after a reset has occurred):
    Set SEC/DIV to 20.0ns
Press the CH2 button to turn on CH2
    Set CH1 VOLT/DIV to 5.0, then CH2 to 5.0 with the knobs
Press the CH1 button to switch to the CH1 setup menu
Press the CH1 button to turn OFF CH1 (this is the first time)
Press the CH1 button again to turn CH1 ON (this is the first time)
Press the CH1 button again to turn OFF CH1 (this is the second time)
Press the CH1 button again to turn CH1 ON (this is the second time)
    The scope will reset.

I installed the latest software (20190613) and it still resets when I follow the steps I listed in my first note (switching between CH1 & CH2 to set up the scope).

I also discovered that I can not revert back to the firmware that came with the scope.  I get an error that the firmware I am trying to "update" to is older than the existing firmware.

Thanks for trying to help, but I have the DSO4202C.  The firmware you have is the DSO4102C.

When I tried to do that, I get an error saying that the "update failed" because the existing firmware is newer than the firmware I was trying to update it with.

I'll try the new firmware first.  If it doesn't work, I'll try resetting the firmware back to the original using the method you describe.

That seems to have fixed the reset problems I was having.  Thanks!
